Sixti Quinti Pontificis Opt. Max. Ephemerides: manuscript, 1585-1588.

Seventeenth century copy of Gualtieri's diary entries from April 1585 to May 1588. In his diary, Gualtieri chronicles the Pope's various audiences with foreign dignitaries, including the Japanese Legation; social and economic endeavors as well as artistic and cultural achievements of the Pope; the construction of several monuments and fountains in Rome including the completion of St. Peter's; and the establishment of the Vatican press. Gualtieri also documents in detail, Domenico Fontana's moving of the Vatican Obelisk.
